Check the rule for your own nationality and journey.
Casino identification and a travel document solve different questions. This guide does not decide whether a specific person may cross a border, declare cash, owe tax or use a particular document.
Entry documents
Swiss SEM says entry requirements depend on nationality. Its official tables and FAQ are the decision source; a venue accepting an identity document does not prove that the same document is sufficient for border crossing.
Cash and customs
FOCBS states that cash can be carried into, through or out of Switzerland without a routine declaration, but truthful information is required when questioned; enhanced information is requested in checks involving CHF 10,000 or more. The same source warns that other countries have different rules.
This statement does not determine French, German, EU or personal tax obligations. Check the authority for every country crossed.
FOCBS cash and currency guidanceGoods and purchases
FOCBS requires travellers to declare carried goods where applicable and provides current allowances and QuickZoll guidance. A casino visit does not create an exemption.
